A Wayne man bought a $1-million lottery ticket while on his way to work, the Michigan Lottery said today in a news release.

He purchased the ticket at Mitch’s party Store, 37504 Michigan Ave., in Wayne, and then scratched the $50,000,000 Cash Spectacular instant game card in his car.

The man’s name was not released by lottery officials because they said he wishes to be anonymous.

According to the news release:

The man said his “heart was racing,” “hands were shaking,” and he “drove around in circles for 10 minutes before heading home” to tell his family.

He added: “I knew I couldn’t work then, I was too excited!”
