SURVIVING WINTER: DEFINE YOUR JOURNEY!

With snowflakes falling and holiday spending in the air, book clubs, theatrical plays and performances, bowling, movies and fitness centers have replaced the sunny days of the summer.
At the same time, many are fighting to keep themselves motivated, positive and striving towards full-time employment again, paying bills on time again or some resemblance that things are getting better. Endorphin induced mood elevations can help. No, no, no, not the one’s bought on by eating your favorite chocolate cake or ice cream! I’m merely talking about the “high” brought on by participating in strenuous activity, physical or mental. Despite the great shows on television and the reluctance to go out into the cold, continued movement and involvement in meaningful activities is key.

Sure it gets dark by 5:00 pm, but it is important to remember how active you were when it was summer time and the sun didn’t go down until 10 pm. The winter blahs can be boring and as a result, rob you of your eagerness to pursue, whatever you are pursuing!

Belonging to professional “Meet-Up” or “Mastermind” groups around specialized topics, like entrepreneurial opportunities, community development, self-discovery or enhancing one’s quality of life can provide the mental stimulation needed. Ongoing conversations with friends, colleagues and people you don’t know can bring a degree of excitement and a level of networking, rarely experienced when economic and environmental conditions are in a slump.

Whether you are redesigning your vision board, deciding on New Year resolutions or finally enhancing a business plan, it is necessary to stay active and to make everything that you are involved in, work towards your ultimate goals in life.

If you are tired of feeling frustrated, confused, or even stuck, then it is time to start taking steps towards the life you want to live. If you are ready to feel in control of your own existence again, then it is time to win. I believe that you have a unique and special contribution to make and that you want to enjoy a greater sense of purpose in life. I know that you were not placed on this earth to fail, but instead to create a significant legacy that others will examine and model in an effort to advance mankind. The time has passed for you to harness your determination and will for a more fulfilling life, a better future and a remarkable legacy. I’m convinced that you already have what it takes! Your pilot light is always on; you simply need to turn up the gas. The first step: Remove distractions along with the clutter that’s been covering it up.

What matters most in an economy like this is building your network. Defining Your Journey requires you to personalize the path you are on. Those who don’t are simply wandering through life, allowing things to happen to and around them. What so many miss and unfortunately don’t completely understand is how critical it is for them to chart where and how they spend their time. I am convinced that you are supposed to be in a better position than you are today and that you may only be one quality decision away from realizing your Breakthrough! As a result, let me encourage you, if you don’t do anything else, complete one Journey focused assignment today and every day, task that will get you one step closer to your ultimate goals.
