Sylvia Hubbard Demonstrates The Power of The Pen & More!

By Deborah A. Culp

I once did a workshop that allowed me to speak to a captive audience and a group  that could literally see right through me! It was at the Boys & Girls Club and the audience was a group of 4 to 9 year old little girls. Children are so pure and come without filters, they literally say what comes to mind and it comes “up and out” for the most part.

So when I asked them what was 2 of the most powerful tools on earth… they had a bevy of answers, but did not come close. The answer that I held up in my hand, and later gave one of each to all of them, was a pencil and a piece of paper. Yup, a plain old yellow number #2, wooden pencil and a piece of Loose Leaf, lined paper. That was all a part of teaching the little ones, what a few basics were in becoming a good writer. Thanks for allowing me to share that meager example of how important writing is to our society and as a whole.

Now, to drive it home, we’ll talk a bit about one of the Powerhouses’ that I began following a while back. She demonstrates daily, through social media, email communication and just plain old reaching out “the power of the pen!” It is  Ms. Sylvia Hubbard, Founder of the Motown Writers Network (MWN) and much, much more!  She is an award winning Author, Blogger and Literary Empowerment Advocate and an awesome human being.

Sylvia is a single mom of 3 beautiful children, a sought after Fiction Writer, a mega-sales Author and a successful E-Book creator & sales person. Way before it became popular and a household necessity.  She also launched the Michigan Literary Network (MLN) to better help connect area Poets, Readers, Writers and Authors to each other, in the Michigan Literary & Literacy communities. But it doesn’t stop there; the MWN and MLN now have an avid following across the US and beyond, through networking and the power of Social Media and other facets of the Internet.

Ms. Hubbard has 5 Blogs and contributes to other Blogs; she is the author of 14 books (and counting) including the “Internet Marketing Guide for Writers & Businesses” More? Well as she continues to demonstrate the true power of the pen, she does it in other forms, such as speaking on a wide variety of topics by booking appointments & Media requests. *Via Ms. Andrea Daniels-contact info. adaniel0089@comcast.net
