DETROIT (WJBK) – Police tell FOX 2 that an arrest has made in the brutal carjacking of a World War II veteran.

The 21-year-old suspect was arrested early Friday morning on the city’s west side. He’s accused of carjacking 86-year-old Aaron Brantley at a Detroit gas station last week.

The surveillance video of Brantley crawling away from the crime scene made national news. Police say the airing of the video on television helped with leads in the case.

Brantley is recovering from a broken leg.
