Normal. What exactly does that mean? When one stops and examines their own actions and thoughts this very question is primary. The media has done a stand up job of creating what this “normal” looks, sounds, feels, smells and taste like. And the masses have steady followed along like humanoids. Humanity has been gifted many characteristics, attributes, and abilities but the one that makes us who we are our diversity! But yet we all “look” the same, why? There is a uniqueness that’s innately given and to deny it is to deny self. You don’t see a lion trying to be a tiger, or a goat trying to be leopard, do you? We (humans) are the only ones that put on the mask of someone else and wear it proudly as though it belongs to us!
Every one of us has suffered from some form of struggle of setting free the organic self. I know I have! The above quote that started this piece has not always held true for me. It wasn’t until I began to desire to discover and “remember” my organic self that true happiness, peace, love, acceptance and most importantly inner balance was recognized. This is also when the nature of others became very clear. I learned quickly that when one embraces and operates in their given freedom it can affect others two ways. 1) It can inspire them, or 2) it can intimidate them. I recall a conversation that I had with a good friend of mine in relation to my rediscovered liberation. He said, “True freedom is knowing that there is a chance that you may be hurt but you take it anyway, and in everything there is a lesson.” That was challenging and in the beginning was extremely difficult to understand let alone live it. But that’s what I do! I take chances everyday growing in my creativity and pushing myself to be ME because a conformist I am not! Remember? Yes there is the negative energy others try to invade my space with, but their access is denied!
So I say to those that have given in to the illusion of normality, challenge yourself! Step out of your comfort zone; allow the YOU that have begged for freedom… out! What is one thing that you could do outwardly to proudly proclaim your inner liberation? Start with something small. Need an idea where to begin? Be honest and open with yourself. Self-liberation is not about rebellion, even though many will view it that way. It’s about having an ongoing understanding and appreciation of Self in order to understand and appreciate others. Thus creating an undisputable peace.
There is no better time than NOW to take the mask off of someone else, and give it back! Discover and remember the organic YOU. You have everything to gain!
Dance to beat of a different drum!
