New Beginnings Christian Church: Opening Week, Standing Room Only!

By Deborah A. Culp

We missed the official first Sunday’s grand opening of the Eastern NC based, New Beginnings Christian Church (NBCC), on February 19th, but not the next one, held on February 26, 2012! It is safe to say that 3120 Alex Trask Drive (Castle Hayne, NC) will become a welcoming beacon for all who care to stop, see and even join, an up and coming “mega church.” Large enough to house a variety of ministries and a diverse congregation, but small enough for everyone to feel at home.

Pastor, Robert Campbell, joined by his lovely wife of 23 years, Mrs. Kathy Campbell lead by example. Another amazing factor, their 4 children: Leah, Tiffany, Kyle and Brent, share in the church ministry too, further “leading by example.” Pastor Campbell brings a wealth of experience to the proverbial table, from many areas of life.  After 26 years of service to our country he retired from the United States Marine Corps with the very prestigious rank of Major. He holds a BS Degree in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Arts for Management and is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Divinity and as he shares his passion for education, he himself will tell you that “sky is the limit” after that goal has been accomplished.

Called by God to lead the church beyond the four walls of the traditional church and out into the community, Pastor Campbell literally takes the Gospel into the community by partnering with nonprofit organizations and other ministries. He serves as the President of the (Wilmington) Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. Together they strive to bring local ministries together to fight for the underserved, the underprivileged. Fight to improve the public school system and to reduce the number of youth, incarcerated in our penal system and more.

Dance Ministry, Men of Valor, D.I.V.A.S. (Divine, Inspired, Virtuous And Saved), G-72 and the Drama Ministry are a few of NBCC’s “core ministries” but it doesn’t stop there by any means! Hospitality, Intercessory Prayer, Membership Management, Men’s Fellowship, Mulit-Media, Music Ministry, Pastor’s Aide, Public Relations, Prison Outreach, Security, Singles Ministry, Sister to Sister, Step Team, Ushers and the Youth Ministry are yet another part of the core ministries of NBCC.

With 2 convenient times for worship services and day care assistance for their youngest members or visiting guest, makes it equally as easy to stop by for a visit.  They even provide “free transportation” “to area members or guest! For more information call (910) 341-7984 or see: –DAC-
