With Mother’s Day approaching many of us are just now thinking of ways to honor our moms, but one Michigan man has been planning since January.
Joseph Muzzin, 29 of Westland, MI has been training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Marathon June 3 in San Diego to honor his mother, Denise, who died from the disease in 1999 at the age of 41, leaving behind eight kids ages three to 17. This is the second time Joseph will represent Michigan in the marathon. Ten years ago, he competed in Orlando, FL.
He hopes to beat his time, but more important is the deadline of May 15 is coming soon and Joe is a little more than $1,000 from his goal he must meet in order to compete.
“He’s been training since for almost six months, and he is persistent,” said Trish Brown, Publisher ofTPEPost.com “I know he will do it, but it’s time for all of us to get behind our hometown hero and support his quest to remember his mom as we approach Mother’s Day.
“I hope as many people as possible will click on the link and donate $5, $10 or $20 so he makes it. We already saw the commitment of local attorney Norman A. Yatooma who was generous with a donation for $1,000,” Brown added.
