Being Alive is extremely honored to be Community Collaborators with Outfest for the 2012 Outfest Legacy Awards on October 13, 2012 at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The Outfest Legacy Project is dedicated to LGBT Film Preservation.


This year The Legacy Project will be presenting the Visionary Award to producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (CHICAGO, HAIRSPRAY, THE BUCKET LIST, FOOTLOOSE, “Smash”, “Drop Dead Diva” and “ A Raisin In The Sun”) and will be screening the Historic Restoration of the earliest known LGBT films DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS (1919). This film and all known negatives were destroyed by the Nazi’s. The only copy that survived was found in Russia and has been preserved for the whole world to see.
