LMFAO is known for their red-hot performances — but at a concert last night (Dec. 28) in Honduras, the ‘Party Rockers‘ were left feeling a different kind of heat after a fire broke out mid-show. According to gossip site TMZ, the group were forced to stop their performance at the Coliseo Nacional de Ingenieros when a blaze began burning through the venue.
Once smoke began filling the theater, the group left the stage as fans starting fleeing for their lives. Thankfully, at press time, no one was killed in the fire, although at least 15 people had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Adding intrigue to this story are police reports that arson is reportedly to blame for the blaze. Cops in the Central American capitol tell local media outlets that they believe a “criminal hand” set fire to the electrical system.
As always, the easygoing rockers tried to make light of the serious situation. After the blaze, band member Redfoo tweeted: “Epic concert tonight!!!! Everybody in Honduras, we set the place on fire!!!!” The rapper went on to recount the scary events of the night, saying: “They told us that there was a fire when we were on stage. Then we went to the dressing rooms and there was smoke in the halls.”
But the severity of the situation wasn’t totally lost on the ‘Sexy and I Know It‘ duo. Later in the evening, Redfoo was back on Twitter with the message: “On a serious note. Hope everybody is safe from the fire tonight! love you Honduras!”
