You already know TV’sThe Bachelorette. Now get to know her car.
We’re talking about the reality romance series that runs Monday nights on ABC. This season’s eligible woman of the moment is Desiree Hartsock of Los Angeles.
So far, so good. But this season, there is another star, and it’s not one of the bevy of men that are called upon to court her.
It’s a car.
And not just any car. In keeping with the show’s over-the-top fantasy theme, the car is a Bentley GTC V-8 convertible in a jaw-dropping shade of aqua blue. The sticker shows a price, with all the options, of $224,215. Not bad for a woman who is an employee in bridal shop.
We’re told it was borrowed from a Beverly Hills dealership. The paint job alone added $4,355 to the pricetag. Then, throw in $980 for a “neck warmer,” $840 for seat ventilation and massage and $1,160 for a rear-view camera.
The bachelorette had better not spend all her money on cars. She’ll need to hold some back to fill the gas tank. The Bentley averaged 14 miles a gallon in the city, 24 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg overall. At least that’s better than other Bentleys with larger engines.
Maybe she’ll fall in love more with the car than any of the guys. The series doesn’t exactly have a sterling record when it comes to engagements that stick.
