Dr Curtis L Ivery, chancellor Wayne County Community College District, and Pres Barak Obama at the Western Campus Belleville, MI

Wayne County Community College District Chancellor Dr Curtis L Ivery seen here with Pres Barak Obama may be in line for the job as Secretary of Education.

Ivery would not confirm other than to say he is committed to putting Americans back to work through education and workforce development.

This wouldn’t be the first time Ivery worked for a president. He was the first African America  cabinet member to former Pres Bill Clinton when he was governor of Arkansas.

Ivery is also a member of the board for the American Association of Community Colleges.

The change he has brought to WCCCD has been one of the most impressive stories to happen in education and in  the Detroit area. He has received national attention for his efforts.
